Art joined Discovery in 1999. He grew up in Hastings, MI and during high school he developed a keen sense that God wanted to use him in some type of pastoral ministry. He received a BA in Philosophy at Taylor University and Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary. He has a certificate in Leadership and Human Resources Development from the University of CA. In his previous church in the San Francisco Bay Area, Art served as Youth Pastor, Christian Education Pastor, Administrative Pastor and Senior Pastor.
Using the words of Jesus as found in The Message, Art desires to bring out the God flavors and the God colors of this world because God is not a secret to be kept. (Matthew 5:13-16) He loves being a pastor and believes God has designed each person with a purpose and being a pastor is his.
Along with his wife Judi, Art enjoys spending time with their grandchildren, traveling places they never dreamed they would, seeing a new church facility become reality and playing with their cat, Einstein. He also enjoys reading and helping beautiful plants to grow in his yard.
Dave grew up in New Jersey where he graduated from both high school and college. He earned his BA in Biblical Literature from Northeastern Bible College. Then, he completed Master of Arts & Divinity degrees at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA.
Dave met his wife, Pat, while at seminary and they have served together on church ministry staffs in both California and Minnesota. As a family, they have two grown sons, Joshua and Christopher.
The call of ministry led Dave and Pat to Discovery Church in the fall of 2013. It is the words of Colossians 3 that have challenged and inspired them to serve the Lord throughout the years in vocational ministry. “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you … and whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father."
Born and raised in Aurora, Colorado, Jon joined our team at Discovery in May of 2017. Jon graduated from Biola University in La Mirada, CA with a degree in Christian Education before making his way back to Colorado to complete a Masters Degree in Leadership from Denver Seminary.
With a leadership background and a passion for youth, Jon truly desires for every student to know what it means to be a disciple of Christ (John 15:1-8) and walk in the light (John 8:12), as they understand what it means to impact the world around them!
Jon met his wife Kristi while at Denver Seminary and they got married in August of 2015. Together, they love to take adventures and spending time with their cat, Maz.
Sue has a heart for leading people before the throne of God. Originally from Wilmar, Sue uses her gifts to bring songs of praise to the Lord and believes helping others do the same is an incredible honor.
Psalm 33:1-3 says, "Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy." Sue longs for the worship team to give the Lord the very best in worship, to become invisible so that HE may be visible.
Sue is married to Barry, who is also a gifted musician and song writer. They have two daughters, Isabella and Bailee. As a family they love spending time together playing games and watching movies.
Pat grew up in California and attended Azusa Pacific University and Talbot School of Theology, graduating with a Masters in Christian Education. She has served in churches in both California and Minnesota as the Director of Children’s Ministries and joined the staff of Discovery in 2014.
She met her husband Dave while attending Talbot and they made a commitment to serve God together. They have jointly served on several church staffs through their years of ministry. They have two grown sons, Josh and Chris who they enjoy spending time with. Pat enjoys reading, hiking, and gardening.
Pat has a passion to see children come to Christ and build a strong faith foundation that will last them through their teenage and young adult years into their adult lives. She loves to equip and empower both leaders and parents to embrace their holy calling of impacting the next generation for Christ, taking to heart Deuteronomy 6:4-7 where we are encouraged to live out our faith daily, passing on a vibrant, active faith to our children.
A transplant from Texas, Deanna has been holding down the fort in the church office since 2005. She provides invaluable support to the other staff members and is always ready to assist members of the church body in any way possible.
Deanna and her husband Randy have three wonderful children that she loves to spend as much time with as she can.
