Children's Ministries

At Discovery Church, we offer programs for all children from birth through elementary school with specific goals for each age. For infants and toddlers, we seek to provide a safe and loving environment where children are introduced to Bible-based curriculum in a fun and familiar setting. When children reach preschool and elementary age, we want to assist them in coming to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We also seek to support families in nurturing Christian faith in their homes by creating times for families to play and grow together and by providing families with resources and training.

Specific Children's Ministry Programs:

Nursery:  Infant (Birth - 24 months) and toddler (2 - 3 Years old) nurseries are offered during the Worship Service. Children need to be registered in the appropriate nursery. For the parents/guardians' comfort, a paging system is used, if needed, by the nursery volunteers. Infant/Child dedications are scheduled by contacting the church office.

Children's Church:  Children's Church is provided for preschoolers (ages 4 - Third Grade) during the Worship Service. Children will enjoy Bible stories, music, projects, and more. Parents should register their child as they enter the classroom.

AWANA:  Awana Clubs meet on Wednesday nights during the school year. The Cubbie program is available for preschoolers (age three prior to September 01). The Sparks program is for kids in kindergarten through grade 2. Truth & Training is for boys and girls in grades 3 –5. Awana is a fantastic program that offers Bible learning and memory work, game time, and a council time with music and various speakers. Awana can be joined at anytime throughout the school year. www.awana.org

Children's Library:  The Children's Library is located in the lower level of the education building. A variety of children's books, videos, and computer games are available for checking out. The children's library holds special events during the summer months.

Summer Programs:  Day-camps, Vacation Bible Schools, and special activities are offered each summer for children ages three through grade five. These events emphasize Bible-learning with songs, games, projects, and snacks. In addition, a number of student camping opportunities are offered through Camp Lebanon during the summer months. A complete schedule is available in the church office.

Family Fun Nights:  Throughout the year, family fun nights are planned for families with preschool through school-aged children. A variety of activities are offered both on and off site.
